Everything you've been taught

For everything, you have fought

You lost in battle and now are all alone

Alone doesn't mean lonely

Remember you aren't the only

One who wants to go back to that day

And change the way

It ended to save

Your thoughts, love, and memories

As time heals the scars

You turn toward the stars

And wonder why

Why everything ended the way it did

With overhead star showers in the skies

You slip into hypnotic dreams

And sing delusional lullabies

The lack of color lulls you to sleep

You will not wake

For your sake now

You are safe from it all

I am sorry

I would come back for you

But it is just a little too late

Well crafted and thought provoking writing-for me, an exploration of 'its over' yet, as you rightly suggest, 'alone is not the same as lonely' alone can mean space to just exist and consider where do I go from here-great writing giving the reader much to take away and consider further
