Years of Digression

Years of Digression

A Poem by Ethale Captor
"

Time doesn't heal scars, it covers them with new ones.

"

I keep believing

Things will get better

That I won't be lonely

At least not forever

Maybe it'll be different

Maybe this time around

Or maybe I'm just dreaming

Bring my mind back to the ground

I want to believe

With every single tear

But inside, I know...

... It's just another year

January, February

Snow filled pain

March, April, May

A little warmer, but the same

June, July, August

I see things of past

September, October

But I know love won't last

November's embrace

Love, I cannot remember

Time erases memories, not scars

Just remember December

A year's come and passed

With such lonely sorrow

Hopefully, just maybe...

... Maybe tomorrow...
