The Transient

The Transient

A Poem by Bladecatcher
"

through the eyes of a waif

"

Stared at the sun
i rubbed my eyes
a loaded gun
i'm not surprised

with these awakened eyes

i smell the rain
i dried my eyes
reload my brain
my senses died

with these awakened eyes

and you wanted
just a little more
was never enough
never good before

you didn't realize

you were ever longing
driven by your need
self consumed with thought
of a tainted life

you didn't realize

and if it was over
had it stuck in the vein
if you felt the pupils roll into your head
like the bullets you had dared to load

with these impartial lies

was there a moment
when you transcended
looking down upon
your lonely children

with these impartial lies

wrought with anger
brought by hate
towards the system
playing a losing game

and now we roll the die

c**k the hammer
moisture rises from the earth
i hear the thunder
and i see the light

and now we roll the die

taste the rain on your tongue
taste the tears from your cheek
taste the salt of the earth
taste the pain of defeat

with these awakened eyes
