What I Want

What I Want

A Poem by MeaninglessWords
"

A piece about how I feel when I try to be creative

"

What do I want?

I want to show the world the crazy insane and beautiful things that float through my head.

I want to create these thoughts and make them real so that they aren’t invisible to those around me.

I want others to see the colors both bright and vibrant and dark and cold.

I want others to read these words and know what it is like to think how I think.

But these hands cannot create, they are unsteady and broken.

These hands can only create broken images with dulled colors.

These hands can only write garbled fragmented sentences and stories with no ending.

These stories all begin and never end.

These images only spawn in thought, invisible to the world.

I think for most writers of poetry and prose there is a bit of a struggle, with sentence fragments always forming at the wrong times or ideas presenting themselves only part of the way. There is the need to sit down and wrangle it all together into something that makes sense, which can sometimes feel like a chore, but that's the part of writing that is trainable. If you're struggling with that part you're in good company, and the better news is that what you absolutely do have is the beating heart and soul of a writer.
