Ascension with a Vengeance

Ascension with a Vengeance

A Poem by Nexus

I still remember when they shot me down
that bloody, long, and restless night
and without fury, without sound
I wrapped myself Gaia's might.
Season's came and season's past
three years is far too long
lying on bullet's and shattered glass
as the world turned slowly on.

But now I'm reemerging
being pulled from the abyss
vengeance, vengeance ever churning
when that pen's inside my fist.
Almost to the surface now
the sun glows upon my eyes
and when I stand upon the ground
they'll wish I'd truly died.
