Flames of Mortality

Flames of Mortality

A Poem by Nexus

The fires went out for your stairway to heaven

What mostly remained was a blur

Nothing but fantasies, sewn afterwards out of grief

Blowing smoke

Rewriting nature.

The recognition of mortality was the rule of existence.

Serenity could be found in the vast indifference of the universe.

One day-and it won’t be long-we’re going to wake up and it is just going to be too late.

How true. It comes upon us so rapidly and most people miss the ride before the final stop. Good write.
