The Execution

The Execution

A Poem by Nexus

.......

"
Todays the day we see her fall
an arrow pierce her heart
she marched upon the trumpets call
her mind was torn apart.

Wrapped in chains and rags of cloth
fear slept in her head
she felt the winds touch one more time
for soon she would be dead.

A sheltered life, a fragile soul
she kept her heart close by
the need for love soon took its toll
it ate her from inside.

Evenings past and summers went
and soon love stood before her
a charming prince that fate had sent
from far across the water.

Her love was true, her heart was too
but soon her mind lost interest
caught in love with someone else
shed failed temptations final test.

So now she stands upon the stage
a target right behind her
looking out at her beloved
from the chains that bind her.

He pulled the string and set the point
she only closed her eyes
she said she loved him one last time
and then he watched her die.
