A Friendship Departed

A Friendship Departed

A Poem by Nexus

poetry.

"
Though we parted years ago
I thought you were my friend
I thought that things would be the same
when we met up again.

I thought we had a special bond
I thought we were like brothers
I thought you wouldn't betray me
For the interest of another

Clearly I'm uninteresting
I wasted precious time
Every time the phone rings
You ask for him, and my hope dies

So I'm just going to let you go
I'm just going to let it end
Your happy with your choice, I know
But I've lost my best friend.

sometimes we lose people along the way . . . it's part of life. never fun, though.

Join the club! But, this was a very beautiful piece of work. I am sorry for your loss.

Just go with the theory, "If it was meant to be (in a friendship way), then it will find a way." Please do not lose yourself in remorse! Life is for the living.

Best regards,
Gabe
