Midnight Train

Midnight Train

When Bobby Took the Midnight train
He kissed his mother good-bye
Little did he know that day
That he was going to die.

He told her that he loved her
And said sorry for times past
When all they ever did was fight
About the future and the past.

As the moon stared down
Like an angel in the sky
Forgiveness slowly drowned them
As they said their last goodbyes.

Tears strolled down his mothers face
As she hugged him one last time
As she watched him board that midnight train
And take that final ride

And when she learned the news
That he was gone for good
She knew that he forgave her
For shed done all that she could.

Shed always remember
The night he took that midnight train
The moment of their last goodbyes
Until the day she saw Bobby again.
