Monsters Have Nightmares TooA Poem by Blackcatattack
Monsters have nightmares too,
and in their dreams they dream of you. The foulest of all prowling beasts that hide in dark places, basements, attics and under beds, behind your eyelids, in your head they stay. To get away from the light of day that torments them so. For you are not an innocent though you lie beneath the covers, squinting and wondering how long 'til morning. You have tread carelessly upon resting shadows, scattered ashes and disturbed peaceful beasts with your infectious words that are ever so human! Built cities upon the ground of the dead, squandered any dark thoughts in your head by light. Only a bright, white light, which is, what everyone believes to be good, and scoffed at the unimaginable as if unimagined could be the same as impossible. It's not. And they were here first. Before coming out into the world you live and breathe in the total dark, which will stay that way no matter how much you try not to blink. And terrible creatures are very afraid of what you have done, who you will become, so they lurk, waiting in unexpected places with hungry mouths and claws outstretched, ready to conquer their fears.
