The Avenue at Twilight.

The Avenue at Twilight.

A Poem by Charlene
"

Trying to look at the dark sky in a bright city. Finding the differences between where I am and where I want to be.

"

The artic air stirs the streets
as I learn my pace with silence feet
down these blissful city blocks.

Converse hit the cracked concrete
with subtle hints of their defeat
tracking through the melting snow.

The horizon blurs with brilliant light
that sends me chills throughout this night
as I watch the sky turn to coal.

Those tree tops dance among the flame
while I run to a place where no one knows my name
and I leave this town behind.
