A Poem by Laura Lynn

Feeling the body undergo acclimation,
gently the purslane lives with candor.
Ingredients for cookies in a canister
and self-defense to counter accusation.
I feel like I should be shopping next to
other bargain hunters. A brand traitor,
I am a bad shopper. Supplies outnumber
demand. I could knit gifts, so I’m apt to.

homemade is probably better anyway...there is more heart in it...bargain hunters get good deals, those who receive man or woman made gifts..get the best deals.

i see something about the commercialism and materialism that christmas has become...

those cookies sure taste good though...as long as they are homemade.

I was drawn in Laura to the organised hotch-potch and it struck me that this collage was like the cork noticeboard through which 'Keyser Soze' concocted his story in the movie 'The Usual Suspects' - each element of his story was 'Next to' the other in the form of receipts and flyers and bulletins on the bulletin board in the interrogation room.
I got the feeling you might have scanned a similar group of things on a counter top for instance. Its was good for me ... :)
thank you

Yes, it's something to think about, commercialism in the Christmas happening lies far from the original meaning of this holliday. Thank you for sharing this, Laura. Merry Christmas. :) Rudi

Your poetry seems to turn sharp corners. At times I don't know what to make of it. The idea flow seems erratic but I do like the thinking.
