When we say to ourselves, "I can, I can!"

When we say to ourselves, "I can, I can!"

A Poem by Laura Lynn

…flowers to Arrange,
walking up the Creaky
stairs I Crave
no one wants to be the poor one, Astride
demarcated poverty, floating on a cloud, Neglected

Imperfectly, I could have another
Rental agreements
Shame, depicted in paintings, becomes
Irredeemable time, you better make it as lovely as you can,
Admitting no arousal for no apparent reason.

Caterers might have been another good occupation. I was always looking for work.
Caterpillars turn into butterflies.
Astronomy is something to study.
Nimble as a seamstress; I did wander through the city.
Inland there may be no ocean, but there are rivers.

Thimbles protect thumbs,
Overcome by needlework.  It is almost corseted.

"When we say to ourselves, 'I can! I can!'" This is great. When we say to ourselves "I can," we will, or at least we will make the best out of a less optimal situation. Caterpillars to butterflies, finding a river inland where there is no ocean, finding a new occupation. Shows a person's resilience!

I like the way you twist your words into a work of art. Also I noticed how, during the first paragraph, you'd intentionally capitalize the last word and leave the first uncapitalized. Imperfect in setup, but perfect regarding this poem. That was a clever thing to do.
