Nothing without Providence

Nothing without Providence

A Poem by Laura Lynn
"

die Stimme, die Stimmen, voice; das stimmt- that's right, that's true

"
Spontaneity, it's all about inspiration for sustenance,
talk of Holly Sugar or Jolly Rancher, Celestial Seasonings...
interior monologue, he's gone, he crossed Interstate 25 and I-70 not for
mimicry, but for a prosperous glitzy arrival into a new page a radical shift;
minnows, glittering fish that kiss your toes.  Trapped taking a vacation for granted,
evacuation they didn't know, so then vacation, though we were not in danger

don't snap a photo, they went somewhere.  we all went somewhere with whom?
a day is bright, and I will not go but to walk out this entryway, wearing fashionable boots,
splattering wet leaves across the gravel driveway.

splinters have made themselves out of railroad ties, the train and the plane for
this Rocky Mountain Highway.  You won't see anything of ski lodges, you won't be an
interloper, woman.  You had given up the nation and what does it mean to go there?
miracles were begun when the world was young or seemed younger, she was a great
miracle to him for that moment, typing on her keyboard, her accomplishments,
traveling to that distant city; did we admire others for travel, or would we share us,

split between one Christmas tree and another, my son's beds are separated, it is right?
caught in a landslide of landscapes, and the history of landscape, I don't care about
house beams as much as God's avalanche of boulders and Denver, Switzerland
of the West, you are blessed.  If there is anywhere to go to feel ownership for this place
no place could hail us like that place. If we, (he or she or I,) won't provide there shall be nothing.

Author's Note

Laura Lynn
this is a sketch a rough sketch of a place I want to purchase as though I could buy a whole state full of snow-capped mountains, not quite the home of Evel Knievel who I now see was born in Montana

This has more cohesiveness about it, maybe it is the thought of vacationing families that gives it it's appeal, it shows a little more of the true quality of the author, and allows the reader to follow easily while still being original and crafty. I especially appreciated "miracles were begun when the world was young or seemed younger, she was a great
