TO GARNISH

Lollipops in the candy store are all the colors of the rainbow.
Elephants are just gray.
Cheese can be packed in red wax. The little Baby Belle cheese we buy.
A garnish ups the price of the dish; the cook kisses it and voila!
Soon we are not writing poetry anymore but watching Looney Tunes.
He, my son though it seems funny to say "my", watches
Enrapt in the escapades of Bugs Bunny who pretends to be Romeo (sometimes.)
Triggers you have to pull day-own,”he says with a drawl.

Author's Note

Laura Lynn
Is this boring? I wonder what I could do to make it more together and captivating or arresting, but maybe it holds some strange chaotic fragmentation. Certainly the obsession with "trigger" is a strange almost foreboding element, depending on how one might feel about it. But I mean it's disjunctive/ all over the place

i liked it- to be honest i was quite impressed, i loved the font and the randomness of some of the ideas and how the whole thing seemed to fall in to place. i did not expect to be reading about bugs bunny or Looney tunes so kudos for the originality. fantastic.
