Garnet

Garnet

A Poem by Laura Lynn

GARNET,                     Abstract poetry in FangSong

No wolves will take us to precious metal or fiery stone, the rubies
Or garnets.  It’s more about the sound than the meaning; it's more about
Friends than death wishes; or more about mean meaning.  Seeing believing.
Eek out a driveling leveling.  Sneak out of bounds to the cataract dribbling.
Could you dribble well?  I could the bell.  Ring, ring the old curly cords,
Haven’t been wrapped around any fingers lately.

another extremely well put together poem. i liked all the imagination of that opening sentence and then the way the poem became like a stream of consciousness, the sense there but quite playful (the rhyme left me thinking that) some great abstractions! fantastic.

Well I need no invitation to feel pulled by this kind of writing. It matters not to me that meaning will never be found in all honesty most of the time with the simplest of things we believe meaning becuase it appeases our mind. Only for example try to think riding a bike and you'll see what happens while you are riding it. Embrace yourself for the fall!! At times there are things which need not the meaning but the feeling. Within that the embracing, within that the textures , the sounds, the gesture found. All that is present in this writing and when the end comes it feels encompassing.

Thankyou
