Mary walks

Mary walks

A Poem by Laura Lynn

Strenuous

Mary walks across the water’s edge with a flower in her hand.
Epochs mean a lot to her, and it doesn’t matter what flower she found.
Usher’s voice is blaring across the lake from a nearby house.  The radio
Mouthpiece is a kind of inspiration; Mary picks up a couple of phrases
And remembers love, that no one gave her the clover she is carrying,
That she found it and spun the stem around distractedly only to press it,
Supplanting the petals between the pages of her volume of Tennyson.

I loved it. So vivid, the imagery is beautiful. A great piece. I want to be her; I want to experience just that. Thank you.
