Antagonize

Antagonize

A Poem by Laura Lynn

Operable, the hospitals need less renovation, the old
Y
ank, a pull of the chain, not a leg or a leg in a boot, but
E
xhaustion carrying a body to its bravest limits yet safe.
N
onconformity calls all errors devices, hailing science.

L
ong-suffering becomes a truth of the greater work, to
E
xhume the old language, a dusty book, a faulty note;
C
onfluence, the two rivers meet, the air became a river,
H
oning again the honey the bees would to make sense,
O
vercompensating for this circle of life, the phases of
M
onolingual dearth brought about by balance, her
E
xcerpts packed away in an old box, moth eaten; it’s a
M
ontage to end all discomfort, or to add to it tether.
