Things that we do

You say you hate

Destroying the rain forest

But you do nothing to change it 

You say you hate

Poaching and killing 

But you do nothing to change it

You say you haven't killed anything

What about that ant under your foot?

What about that spider you said looked scary?

What about the dreams your killing of that kid your bullying?

What happened to all your words?

They are just empty

Full of lies and getting peoples admiration's

"I really do help"

But when that ad comes on TV

With a way to help

You just sit and stare

It's nice to have these thoughts

But words are just words

They hurt, they soothe

But that's not enough 

You see that dog

In the bins

But you cross over the street

 So you don't have to look at it

But it was harmless

Looking for food

Looking for a way to survive

You see them people

Sleeping on street corners

A dog curled up next to them

"Oh that poor dog" you think

What about them?

The dog as their only company

I say these words to get you to understand

That, yes, you can say you will help

But only doing, with no action

Is like throwing a rope to a drowning man

With a broken end

The gesture is kind

The gesture is more than what others say

But a gesture is a gesture

Not an action

Just a movement of your lips

With sound coming out

Nothing attached

So, will you do what you say?

Will you fill your words?

Will show us?

Will help?

Will you?
