Stumbling through the metal sealed hallway with deep breaths, Dr. Hurbert tries desperatly to keep his running statue. Bright flashes of light flicker around his body as he tries to keep his body upright. Gasping for air he leans against one of the metal walls. Splatter echoes in the long shallow halls as he empties his prior meal unto the floor. Trying to hold unto one of the doors, spitting the last of his coughed up lunch, he frowns. Looking straight at a dusty old plate hanging next to the door, he grunts. The pounding of his heart did not stop as he grievously glares at the letters. "This is too much" he starts to think out loud in a hoarse voice, "please, let this not be the same thing again". Not being able to let his eyes go from the old rusty letters, he continues to stumble across the hall in flashing lights. Cries and moans start to errupt from the seemingly endless underground corridor.
======= A little girl sits on the soft ground with her long blond hair laying elegantly in the green grass under a giant apple tree. Fresh wind sweeps through the forest as one of the white birds leave through a white wooden door. "Ahhh, this is so calming", she startes to say to herself laying peacefully with her head on her knees. "Though", she starts to state, "These vines on my arms are getting quite annoying... I do wonder how i could get rid of these". Without being able to finish the sentence she starts to hear something slithering from the top of the apple tree. The crackling of the bark came closer and closer as she lifted her head to see where the source of the noise is coming from. The grand shadow of a circular creature shifting through the trees, causing small green leaves to drop on her cheek, starts to hiss. Before Annabelle could say anything to the unknown coming closer to her, she heard the light hiss in her left ear. Turning around scratching her beautiful summer dress on the bark, she faces the gigantic creature curling around the bark with her bright blue eyes. Hiss. Annabelle can't move. She is surprised and delighted by the large snake.
"My dear, hiss, how have you been? Hiss", slowly spoke the magnificent creature shifting its head between the branches. The little girl smiled and turned away form the snake and spoke softly, "My, I have been fine, how about you Lucious?". Glaring the snake noticed her ripped dress and the vines that were attached to her arms and legs. "What have you done Annabelle? This tree seems to not like your presence!". Quickly turning around putting her hands on her hips she protests,"How dare you Lucious! I have done nothing wrong! It was their fault!", pointing to the white bird that was watching from the air high in the sky. "There were two, two of the white birds, and just like you know as well as I do, this is usally a good sign", lifting her arms and legs pulling the vines she continues, "but this time, it seems the white ones tied me to this tree!". Pulling more on the vines trying desperatly to get loose she lets out a screem. Sweat rolls down her arms and legs being too exhausted to stand up after the tantrum. "Haha, hiss", starts the snake to laugh curling higher into the tree,"That really is unfortunate!". Lifting her head from the flowers that are spread around the tree, she gave the creature a blazing look. "Luciiiiouuuus!!!", she screams lifting herself up from the grass running to the tree, "you son of a b***h!!! Come help me!!!". Sprinting as fast as her little body can she runs up the tree trying to reach the snake. The shadow of the snake grows more and more as she climbes. Suddenly the vines snap back, tearing her from the tree making her long blond hair whip forward. Falling down slamming her arms on the trunk of the apple tree she notices particles scraping off the bark. Metal reveales itself behind the layers of matter. Trying to hold on to vines, they start to peel back revealing more hard shiny metal. Not being able to prevent the fall she lands straight down to the floor. =======
Her vision collapsed, suddenly feelig the coldness of the metal plates on the floor and chains on her arms. Images flash between the white bird high in the sky and a male wearing a white medical coat with long black hair. The shadow of the snake, that seemed to still climb the tree, grew, transfering between both the images of the forest and her cell.
"Doctor!", yells John in his walky talky without turning around to lose sight of the girl, "Did you see what she did? She ran up the wall!!". Extremly excited he watches Annabelle get up from the cold floor. His eyes sparkled as he throws a quick question to her, wether or not she feels ok. Silence. Only the panting and whining of Annabelle can be heard. Not being able to move, the thrilled assistant, again yells for Dr. Hubert, "Doctor! Come here quickly, maybe she will do it again!".
======= The shadow from the snake continued to grow larger and larger. Soon it consumed all the light, and Annabelle lived in complete darkness. Rapidly around her came sudden red and white flashes of light filling all visual spaces. 'I love you', 'I hate you', 'I love you', 'I hate you', loudly a voice proclaimed. Not being able to comprehend everything Annabelle starts to run. "Nooo!", she screams tripping over her own feet trying to escape the horror. 'I love you', 'I have you', "Stop it! P-Please Stop it!". Kneeling on the floor of flashing lights she starts to cry. The echo of the: I love you and I hate you's, get worse. The feeling of being watched becomes increased every second. Suddenly, as if the figure echoing the continuious message was right next to her Annabelle looks down to the floor. It revealed a second her, as if she was looking in a clear mirror. She looked exactly the same only that behind the mirror was a wonderful land, full of pleasure and sunlight. Warmth overcame her until she realized that her image, was the one keep on repeating the echo's. Her double gives her a devilish grin holding up a high gloss purple dagger repeating the same words over and over again. 'I love you', 'I hate you', 'I love you'. Stunned, Annabelle felt the darkness overcomer her, her life, was over, it was time to leave this world. Her otherself disapears and the mirror fades into the old flashing of lights of red and white. Her eyes turn gray, as if all life has left her.
Suddenly she is high in the air, floating above the red and white flashing lights. She sees old self, the one sitting on the floor with gray eyes. Her other self starts to cry. Annabelles lips suddenly move on their own "I love you", she echoes, "I hate you", having switched roles, now her being on the other side of the mirror. Holding the high gloss purple dagger in her hand, she sees herself down below yelling at her to stop, scratching the floor breaking her fingernails. "I love you", says Annabelle again up high in the air watching her otherself crying in pitty. Her other self in the realm of the flashes looks up with grey eyes. Out of mercy, Annabelle drops the dagger to her crying self, so she can end her life. Again, Annabelle starts to echo, "I love you', 'I hate you', 'I lov...", 'Enough!!!', she hears herself yell from below and sees how she takes the purple blade. Looking up to her flying image, the other Annabelle smiles and slams the high gloss dagger into her heart. Blood gushes from the punctured wound in her breast spreading the red substance all over the her body. The red flashing starts to stop. The white flashing starts to stop. Everything in her world, went red.
Sunshine. A bright green field with plenty flowers. Annabelle, swings her bright yellow dress and dances through the grass, laughing, never knowing, that she used to be someone else. =======
Sweat running down his dark tall eyebrows, Dr. Hubert, who after hearing his assistant yell, returned from his walk. Opening the door to the main observing room, he is presented with a phenomenal red painting on the glass where Annabelle is held in. Astonished by the art work, he falls to the ground not wanting to look throught he window. "T-This, is not possible!", he stutters trying to comprehend the change of events,"w-why? h-how?". Knowing that the blood on the glass is most likely from John, his assistant, his mind starts to spin. Pulling himself up touching the glass he loses all power in his leg muscles and falls back down to his knees. Silence. Unable to understand the events he looks down to his large thick hands. "W-What?", falling to his rear he holds his hands up high in the air, seeing them covered with blood. Shacking. Quickly looking up to the window, he sees that the glass is partly shattered, letting the blood drip through the cracks of the glass. The force that much have damaged the triple layered window, is not comprehensible. Feeling powerless to the fact that he is nothing but a mere human being he lays down onto his back with his hands still in the air. Trying to breathe, he sees from the corner of his eye two little feet of a girl, just standing there. His eyes grow large. A sweet little voice fills the quite room.
