"What are you talking about? Kiss HIM? I'm a guy too! Why would I do that when I barely even know him?" I asked, and she giggled.
"Who knows? You might like it. But anyway, let's play captive!" She suggested, and I nodded my agreement. At least she's not suggesting I go around kissing boys anymore. I thought, and she ran to hide while I looked at a tree trunk.
I ended up losing, and we were both tired after one game. We were on the living room couch drinking water and watching t.v. when I got a call from Lane. I hesitated to answer, but it could be important. "Yeah?" I asked, and he sniffed.
"Dude, tell me I shouldn't do this." He sounded like he had been crying.
"Do what, Lane?" I wondered, and he laughed.
"Kill myself." He answered, and I turned him on speaker, putting my index finger on my lips. Emmie nodded and started to listen.
"Why would you want to do that?" I asked, and he made a pained noise.
"Nobody cares! Don't you get it? My mom doesn't care, and my dad left me."
