Feelings

I took off my shoes and put my pajamas back on, climbing into my bed and feeling my phone vibrate in my hands. It was Lane.
When do you go to sleep? He asked, and I smiled at the words on the screen.
Well I get a few hours earlier, so I'll be okay for a while. Do you want to talk? I asked him, and we talked about random stuff until it was really late, and he told me to go to sleep.
I woke up at around nine, and I stumbled into the kitchen to get some cereal. I had my phone in my jean pocket in case Lane texted me. I ate some Frosted Flakes and watched some stupid shows. My mom was still asleep, and I put my bowl in the sink, thinking about my birthday in three days. Lane would be there too. I felt myself getting anxious and giddy at the same time. What's wrong with me? I wondered, and my face turned red. Is it all my teenage emotions kicking in or what? I swallowed and looked at the computer. Maybe I should look up my feelings- Before I got to finish that thought, my phone vibrated.
