Getting To Know Each Other

"How does it taste?" I wondered, and he looked at me harshly.
"Don't try it. It's bad for you." He warned, and I looked at him.
"I was just curious." I replied, and he smiled.
"Alright, the first of it is horrible. I started to cough, and I never knew why anyone wanted to do it. But, I tried it a few more times, and it was pretty good. But, don't do it, okay?" He said, and I nodded.
"Well, my house is right there. Um, it was nice to meet you... I..." I trailed off, not so sure why I felt nervous. He leaned in to me, and I felt my mouth go dry. He stopped and pulled back.
"Right. Do you have a cell phone?" He asked, and I shook my head. He pulled out a slide phone from his glovebox and handed it to me, smiling. "Here. It's a spare that we say for since cancellation fees are high. My number is in there. Call or text anytime." He said, and I felt happy that I made a friend two years older than me.
"Thanks Lane." I gave him a smile before walking to the house and sneaking back in my window.
