Chapter 2. Land Halk

A Chapter by Snickers
"

Devania meets land Halk and finds out that he wants to marry her.

"

“My name is Land halk; I am the lord of the bloodlust clan. Who are you?” He gulped as I pressed the sword closer to his neck when he didn’t answer. “I am Devania, daughter of hell.” I smiled pulling my sword away from his neck. He touched his neck and looked up at me. “Why didn’t you kill me?” He asked. I shrugged one shoulder purking my lips to the other side looking over at him. “Just something about you, makes me want to be nice to you.”  I replied.

“Oh, so…like your hell’s daughter?” He asked tilting his head a little as his long black hair fell over one eye. “Yes, he is.” I replied sitting my sword over my shoulder smiling over at him. “Well isn’t that impossible since like Hell is a place?” Land questioned. “No! Hell is the person that rules over the place and the “Place” is called Hades.” I cut my eyes over at him. “Oh, I’m confused.” He frowned.

“Yeah, everybody gets confused about it. They confused the names; we have to get this straight with almost everybody we come across.”  I replied. He nodded savoring the information I had just given him. “So like, Hades is the place and Hell is the person?” He asked. “Yes sir, you got it.” I smiled. “Are you a full vampire?” I asked remembering when he said he was lord of a clan.

“I’m part demon part vampire, I was a demon until I was bitten by one of the lord vampires, that I killed and well, here I am part demon part vampire and the lord of a clan.” He grinned showing his fangs. “Oh that’s too bad. I’m full demon, I can control fire, right now, and I’m working on air now.” I smiled. “You look more elf than a demon to me.” Land walked around me examining my body from head to toe. “My mother was an elf looking demon, I look just like her.” I let out a heavy sigh sitting down on a fallen tree. “Your mother must be very beautiful.” He replied looking down at me.

“I wouldn’t know, at least right now. She was taken away from me when I was just five years old. Ever since then…she’s been tortured and I have the scars.” I pulled off a glove exposing my wrists showing him pale scars on my bright indigo skin that went around like the bindings I seen put on her wrists before dragging her away.

He sucked in a sharp breath touching the scar then closing his eyes. Land moved to my back lifting up my cape seeing the scars on my back. He shook his head frowning.  I moved one of the leather boots that was being held up by thin leather strings and showed him the scars moving around my piercings and tattoos. I showed him my other leg then moved up to my chest moving around all the piercings around my body showing him every scar. “Wow, so you had to endure everything since you were five years old?” he asked. “Yes, being the princess of hell doesn’t mean you’re invincible, everybody and everything takes pain.” I stood up pulling back on my leather boots and gloves.

“How’d you get all those piercings all over your body?” Land asked tilting his head a little. “I was tired of looking bare and decided to well you know, do something to look not so bare.” I replied looking down as I reached for my sword. “Oh, well they look nice.” He smiled running his hand over the piercings around my left eye.

My eyes left the sword and I looked up at him. “They helped take my mind off the pain that my mother was feeling that I was feeling.” I replied. “What about the tattos?”  Land Halk asked pointing the one that was in the middle of my chest. I shook my head smiling. “My mother had them, so I decided to get them. Since I look like her and everything I figured, why not get her tattoos?” I shrugged gripping my sword and placing it in its sheath at my hip.

“I need to go home and get my staff from father. It’s way more lethal than this preposterous sword.” I started walking in the other direction when I heard his footsteps following me. “You know you’re not very quiet to be a vampire.” I turned around shifting to my left foot. He wasn’t behind me I turned around extracting my sword and came in touch with his arm. “Never let your opponent know you’re going to take a strike at their back.” I shook my head. “Look, don’t try to kill me or you will be killed.” I added.

I started walking towards the green oak tree where the trapped door was. I lifted it open and crawled down the ladder, when I looked up I seen him standing there looking down at me. “Well, come on then.” I sighed rolling my eyes. He climbed down the ladder; I shook my head smiling as we went through the tunnels quickly.

I walked along the halls that were made of rock I looked down one of the halls and there was the man I saw when I was five. I shook my head as I heard his screams as he was being ripped apart. I looked back and a memory flooded back to me a memory from another life. It was the man that killed me, the one that slit my throat after he raped me, when I was human. I closed my eyes draining out the memory with thoughts of finding my mother.

I walked into the throne room and looked up at my father. “Father, I seem to have a follower.” I turned motioning to Land. “Land Halk, am I correct?” Hell stood from his throne looking down at the young man standing beside me. “Yes sir,” Land smiled looking over at me.

I looked at my father tilting my head to the side. “Will you be our guest for supper tonight?” He asked. “I would be honored.” Land smiled. I rolled my eyes as I seen his eyes shift towards me.

*******************************************************

I sat down at the table looking over at Land who was smiling at me. He had something up his sleeve and I knew it. I looked over at my father and he was grinning wider than Land. I glanced down at the table feeling my cheeks heat up.  "Why do I feel like something is planned?" I asked as my plate was filled with my favorite foods.

"Well, maybe because something is planned." My father laughed. I stabbed a piece of steak with my fork and shoved the small square of beef into my mouth not bothering to look up. When we were finished with our meals Land stood up and walked over to me getting down on one knee.

"Devania, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" He asked. "What?" I asked. "Devania, I have been watching you ever since you turned fourteen and ever since then I knew you were the one, I came here a few weeks ago to ask your father if I could take your hand. Now I'm asking will you marry me?" He took my hand. I looked over at my father his eyes glistened like onyx stones.

"Yes, I'll marry you." I couldn't help but smile as my father clapped. "Splendid!" Hell smiled jumping out of his chair. Land kissed my cheek wrapping his arms around my waist pulling me out of my chair. I giggled quietly to myself only loud enough for Land to hear.

"You are my other half, your blood has a fragrance that no other has, and that's when we know we have found our soul mate." Land smiled. "I will let your Aunt Seline plan your wedding." My father smiled. "Aunt Seline as in the goddess of the moon?" I asked. "Yes, she is your Aunt." He grinned. "I didn't know that." I replied with my arms wrapped around Land. 'Well this totally destroyed my plans.' I thought to myself shaking my head.

This is a wonderful piece of writing, and I do hope for more. So please make more, and make more now or I'm going to die! Haha, I love this, it's wonderful.

Its nice but a bit too fast paced. I feel the characters get too friendly too fast, you should slow that down. People don't usually tell you their life stories the moment you meet them. Yeah for future i think the whole chapter has to be expanded and divided into like 4 smaller. Be careful with repetitions.
