As the Sun: You and I

As the Sun: You and I

A Poem by Natalie
"

Just another "if."

"
If I were the sun,
Would you soak my rays,
Curse clouds for dimming my name,
Find sweet contentment,
In our humid embrace,
Mumble gentle nothings too the sky,
Hoping I'll burn your weeds.

Do not become my Icarus,
Even with glue,
Those wings will decay,
Feathers swept under waves,
Never reaching sunset.

I would catch you,
If my arms could stretch light-years,
Yet the galaxy beckons my call,
So I send solar flares,
They cry to the ocean,
“Bring this heart salvation!”

Of course, all is make believe,
You are not Icarus,
And I not the sun

This is the first poem I've posted to this site. I don't know completely how everything works, so yeah. Sorry if the wording is weird.

it all works very well, you present a really good metaphor and hold it throughout the poem...
and the last two lines...classic ending.
The personification adds such life to this.

Hmm... It's quite phenomenal.
Not weird. It's interesting.
Keep it up.

I'm not very good at bios, so I'll keep this simple. I like writing poetry, get pretty random with imagery, and try to be whimsical. Who knows if I succeed. more..
