As the Sun: You and IA Poem by NatalieJust another "if."
If I were the sun,
Would you soak my rays, Curse clouds for dimming my name, Find sweet contentment, In our humid embrace, Mumble gentle nothings too the sky, Hoping I'll burn your weeds. Do not become my Icarus, Even with glue, Those wings will decay, Feathers swept under waves, Never reaching sunset. I would catch you, If my arms could stretch light-years, Yet the galaxy beckons my call, So I send solar flares, They cry to the ocean, “Bring this heart salvation!” Of course, all is make believe, You are not Icarus, And I not the sun © 2019 NatalieAuthor's Note

I like writing poetry, get pretty random with imagery, and try to be whimsical. Who knows if I succeed. more..Writing
