My Winter Wonderland

My Winter Wonderland

A Poem by Serenity Faith

Snow falls lightly upon the ground,
instead of green there's a canvas of white.
A swirling mass that is all around.
The sun is hidden, yet everything is bright.

A meadow once ever flowing with flowers
is now covered in soft clothes meant to be cold
A river once tumbling with power,
is now locked, into a thick, icy hold.

Trees no longer have colors of green
except for the pines with leaves like needles
The mountains and forests are sights to be seen
not a sound is heard, no more crickets or beetles.

I love the soft sweetness of this season
like the shades of grey that splatter the clouds
Its all very fair, in it's own sense of reason
like down feathers, light colors, that don't speak too loud

Take a deep breath and jump in snow petals
look around and take in, that nothing is bland
It's beautiful here, deserving of gold medals
It's my place, and home, in a winter wonderland.

I liked the imagery and the sense of peace It radiated, but the main idea seemed a little... Flat. I guess that's probably why it was so peaceful though. Nice write!
