Past, Present, Future

Actions speak louder than words, and for most who are in capable of change, they have the sad fate of History repeating itself.

It's hard to forget

they say past is the past

Memories are like movies

life's a play, people the cast

oh the love

how much I loved you

Even when I made mistakes

my love was always true

but what did I love?

Only time would tell

we skip to the present

where I tripped and fell

I fell in love with the act

like watching Shakespeare

A Juilet yearning for a Romeo

Love, hate, a hope, a tear

wasted life, wasted breath

But I thank you, I'm stronger

nothing more, nothing less

I yearn for love no longer

the future is yet to come

I don't fear what it brings

Life, children, death, lover

Prepared for all these things

I'm no longer angry

at what's been done to me

but when nothing changes

An angry mother I will be

The past, present, and future

one comes and then goes

each action causes reaction

Move the dam, the river flows

Author's Note

I used to be able to take a beating, let anyone and everyone walk where they wanted to. Pathetic, I know. So I changed. I refuse to let History repeat. And becoming a mother. I will not ever tolerate someone walking all over my children. They will not be stepped on and led to believe that it's okay. And an "I'm sorry", doesn't fix the wounds. Mental, Emotional, or Physical. Let go of the past, present yourself in the present, and make way for one hell of a future!
