A Poem by Serenity Faith
"

Most everyone has insecurites at times...

"
Mirror, Mirror on the...

No, let me rephrase
Image, Image of myself
Why do you haunt me so?
I see you smiling
crystal clear
but is that really
the me I see?
I look into a foggy glass
my curiosity now aroused
This woman has such a plain face
No, there's no originality
at all...
Her smile's more
a smirk, a sneer
asking
What are looking at Darling?
I am what you are
from head to toe
shoulder to shoulder
My, aren't we unsatisfied?
Do you even know yourself?
Or is the cover of this book
so unappealing
that you wouldn't dare
read more?
It's not that I don't like you
I just feel a little unsure
I don't think I'd change
my appearance
even if I could.
It's what other's see
I guess
that I question
You're such a simple looking girl
what would be interesting
about you
at all?
Dearest, then you should listen
as I self assure
It's left to other's misfortune
if they can't see
who you are.
Image, Image of yourself
If I could
I'd back hand you!
Chin up now
and fix that contemplative gaze
shine the light
through those pretty eyes
and show us
your confident smile.
Now you may ask
your question
once more.

This poem is absolutely awesome! I really like your use of "image" instead of "mirror" - it makes it more personal, in my opinion, to have a conversation with your quasi alter ego than an object. Love the subject as well - we all could really use someone, and be that somebody our reflection, to cheer us up with a pep talk exactly like this when we think too lowly of ourselves. However much there may be too criticize, there's bound to be so much more to praise. The hardest part is seeing and acknowledging the good in you, so it would be nice to have somebody kind point them out.
Again, a wonderful poem you have here!

...... that was absolutely stunning! 100/100 and this is going in my favorites! The beginning has a little atitude which gets me locked in right from the start. Then you follow that up with great description and a powerful message that leaves me, the reader, 100% satisfied! Great job!

My pleasure it was a great read!
You conversed with your lovely image as the whole world listened and enjoyed.
Looking into the mirror and loving the self is a universal thing.
I have noticed many women do this.
But only you involved us to see and listen how you did this.
Specially loved your verses:
"I see you smiling
crystal clear
but is that really
the me I see?
I look into a foggy glass
my curiosity now aroused
This woman has such a plain face"
Fabulous write.
Your photo taken one year ago is awesome.

I feel very happy to learn that I could make your heart smile.
I agree, this is one of the best writes that I've read by you. I really like the start of it, as you start with the famous "Mirror Mirror," but you changed up by saying "Let me rephrase that." I really feel strong connection withthis, and I think everybody looks at their reflections like "Why do you do that" or "is this really I look like?" Awesome job, Emily :)
