Letter To Me

Letter To Me

A Poem by WynterPhoenix
"

"When we don't know who to hate, we hate ourselves." - Chuck Palahniuk

"

I’m content to see you survived.

After all those times you’ve lied.

Hiding your tears with fake smiles.

You ran barefoot so many miles.

To you it’s a game of charades.

Your life is one big masquerade.

Your scars that were just a game.

The tears you tried so hard to tame.

Your burden was a heavy one.

Was it worth it now that it’s done?

It wasn’t your fault, you know?

You always knew he would go.

You shouldn’t let them control you.

They had no idea what you went through.

All those times their words cut too deep.

And all those nights of losing sleep.

I’m sorry I left you when you felt alone.

Some things you have to do on your own.

I tried to wake you from your dreams.

I know they couldn’t hear your screams.

So many days your life left you in the dark.

But one little word would have made a spark.

Now take my hand but hold onto it tight.

And I will lead you to a place that’s bright.

You think it’s true but you’re not a nobody.

Because I am you and I am somebody.
