Lying In Shame

Lying In Shame

A Poem by WynterPhoenix

Used, forgotten,

And left for broke.

Child, you’re too young

To be playing this game.

He loves you?

No.

You love him?

Yes.

He hurts you.

You don’t deserve

This pain.

At times it’s okay

To drop out of

The race.

You’re beautiful,

It’s true.

You deserve better.

You have your

Life to start anew.

He isn’t worth

Your crying eyes,

And he isn’t

Capable of loving you.

It hurts but

You’re young.

Your teenage years

Shouldn’t be wasted

On tears.

He hurt you.

“I can never love again.”

Don’t you ever

Say that.

It couldn’t be

More untrue.

Love isn’t to blame,

This was his

Wicked game.

Blame the man

Scrutinizing through criminal eyes.

He’s the one that

Left you lying

In shame.

So don’t blame

It on love, girl.

He isn’t worth

Your pain.
