Star-Crossed AlcoholicA Poem by WynterPhoenixSolid misconceptions. Consequences recollection. You’ve used it, Abused it. Alcoholic reflection. Behind the wheel, Untouchable. On his bike, He’s functional. You chose his fate With your decision create. Underneath the wheels, He’s crushable. Ambulance flashing, Crime squad racing. You used it And abused it. Alcoholic remedies. Drunk driving hypocrisy. Death toll rising, Your actions compromising. Avoidance was suggested, Instead you protested. “Give me the keys, I’ll be okay.” And you were, But you ended Another life today. Solid misconceptions. Consequences recollection. You’ve used it, Abused it. Next time support Alcoholic rejection. Jail time attending, Court date pending. Story never ending. Every day it happens, These rules, You’re bending. Their lives, I’m defending. You used it. You abused it. Alcohol befriending. Such a sad soul, Helping raise the death toll. Sense the guilt. This sin you built. Innocent lives Taken out of idiocy. Defenseless pedestrian, Vehicular supremacy. Stomping out the degree. I’m searching for A developed ending. Every day it happens, These rules, You’re bending. Their lives, I’m defending. © 2011 WynterPhoenixAuthor's Note
