The Clean and Indecent

The Clean and Indecent

A Poem by Curiosity and Black Angel
"

A look into the dynamic of relationships. It's weird the things couple argue about. But are they small particles in a larger bubble of insecurities.

"

The Clean and Indecent

You b***h incessantly.
You moan and complain.
You fuss with the need for attention.
You groan and holler about unimportant facts.

I leave my dirty clothes on the floor,
inches away from the dirty clothes hamper.

I leave the restroom without setting the toilet seat down.

I drink low-fat milk straight from the half-gallon carton,
8 oz glass not necessary.

Yada, yada, yada.

We go back and forth,
on and on about the rigors of compromise.

We travel around in circles,
as indicated by the two set of footprints in the dirt.

We argue and create a commotion
with compromising my flaws as the desired topic of conversation.

Isn’t love beautiful?

Author's Note

Curiosity and Black Angel
Just exploring a little bit. It doesn't follow any poetic form, I know. But I want to start breaking the rules a little.

Hmm...
It's funny, because when I was reading this, all I could think of was - "true love is always blind".
Maybe that doesn't go for everyone, but it should.
If you truly love someone, than maybe instead of focusing all of your mate's flaws, you should just see & embrace what you do infact love about that person.
Although that doesn't always work.

"' Yada, yada, yada"

Anyway,
I like this piece, it's oh-so-true, our hate for one another often ends up over powering our love...
So instead of just the usual " I'll love you forever & always" poems, I got to read something a little different.

hmm...funny, sad but true...at least for me, i know its true....love is supposed to be blind rite? i guess it always is, in the beginning at least, when everything is rosy and beautiful....but then, as we settle down and learn more about the other, the ugliness makes an appearance and sometimes, its too late to turn back!

great piece of work here...no rhyme no rhythm...but well written.

God bless!

Sad, but true in a lot of relationships. All in all, you conveyed this very well. It could be a little longer, but I think the length it is fine. And I'm glad you didn't follow any poetic form. Sometimes we just need to break the rules and explore.

Gosh isn't it true? People (myself included) argue about the pettiest more meaningless things instead of appreciating the time they have together.
