The Guilty Verdict

The Guilty Verdict

A Poem by Curiosity and Black Angel
"

The Guilty Verdict, being guilty of almost giving up the good fight that is life. The Guilty Verdict is an inside look into the things I have been guilty of in my lifetime.

"

The Guilty Verdict

Guilty by association

guilty by the race

guilty by facial expressions.

Guilty...

Guilty by inherited racism

guilty by a lack of religious affiliation.

Guilty...

Guilty as charged

guilty as Mr. Simpson

guilty by my rugged attitude.

Guilty...

I am guilty as charged

booked into jail,

fingerprinted and assaulted

by devious thoughts.

But defeated, I will never succumb

to the tangy taste of surrender.

Wow this is great. It's empowering and dark, courageous and demanding. A really interesting mix. This stirrs up some interesting feelings, good work :)

This is an amazing piece! Great write, and it is fresh, and raw.

Very nice, it has a good flow of explanations and suttle force in it and I myself, am not much into poems that do not ryme. but I liked this one a lot. Never retreat, never surrender! :)

great job.
