What Could Have Been

 

Tomorrow would've been our special day
but now it's just like any other day
it's sad that it had to end like this
having you around is what I really miss.

I wish we could have worked things out differently
then I wouldn't have to feel so lonely,
keep hoping and believing even if I don't want to
don't want to have to keep thinking things through.

This is the first time that I've fallen so deeply for someone
I hate feeling heartbroken because it's not fun
my mind is trying to work things out but its going crazy
moving on used to be my thing but now it isn't really that easy.

My emotions are jumbled and all mixed up
but my heart just won't stop believing and won't give up.

 

I'm so confused and don't know what I really feel,
don't know what is false and what is real.

If I could have a dictionary for everything in life I would look up the word love first
but the little person inside tells me that if I get a hold of this book my brain will burst
I want so bad to tell you what I want you to know
I just want you to tell me what you want to say also
maybe if we were meant to be together we will be once again someday
or maybe not because life just doesn't always go my way.

a very sad, emotional write. i think we have all been here, at one point or another. i especially loved the last 2 lines "maybe if we were meant to be together we will be once again someday
or maybe not because life just doesn't always go my way." full of hope, yet also defeat. if you are meant to be, you will be. if not, it's probably better that way. a very heart-breaking, but well executed write.
