Staple to my Heart was written with the thought of breaking up on my mind. It deals with the immediate aftermath of a horrible break-up.

Staple To My Heart

 

The staple gun goes off,

puncturing my heart; it bleeds

externally, allowing the world

to witness the internal suffering

of a broken-hearted man.

 

Suicidal thoughts rage through

me; death has become my

greatest companion.  Succumbing to

the temptation of death, I float,

secluded to my own island,

the dark cloud... the staple to

I never really thought of the immediate feeling of a break up in that way...but its creative. It was a great way of expressing the pain of losing your significant other. Good job.
