Blanket of Childhood Patchwork

Blanket of Childhood Patchwork

A Poem by CagedBIRDsings
"

A bunch of nonsense, but I wanted to writer something. Snatches of my childhood memories

"

Sprout and Bean

River and Stream

Smoke and Steam

Raindrops falling like a mother's tears

Watching on as clown smile leers

Stinging as a brutal child's sneers

Teacher's head full of air

Sadness filles the empty stair

Bathing in the sunshine's glare

Spider spinning webs of stories

One-legged man of past war glories

Balding men in their early forties

Hop-scotch of an innocent day

Elephant eyes in shades of gray

Barefooted shadow comes to play

Whispers like screams

God's high wooden beams

Concoctions of sweet-smelling creams

Let go of the balloon

Fall into love too soon

Pencils in the noon

Scarred girl burns

Wooden water churns

Foolish people learn

Stealing the bead

Animals to feed

Noble evil deed

See the jar full of sacred ashes

Loving hand slaps in whipping lashes

Rainbow scarves worn as princess sashes

Holy water on the chair

Mouse caught in the bloody snare

Kickball isnt always fair

Imaginary friend Blue

Magic carpet too fast flew

Rice in place of sticky glue

Water fills the perfumes bottle

Doctor's office needles dawdle

Lost rabbit of child's coddle

Childhood spills through a lavender bubble

Imagination cliffs jumping off trouble

Gentle scraping brush of Daddy's stubble
