Bemused

Bemused

A Poem by Bittersweet
"

romance was at its height !

"

The Lord of night is up

To put to sleep the town

He slumber lays upon my lids

They’re slowly falling down

O! let me keep awake

I plead with him today

I wait to hear beloved’s voice

He smiled but gave no way

"O! lovely lady - be not lost

So wrapped up in his thought

And does your prince know "He’s the one

For whom the fire’s hot"

Wistfully " I look aside

I knew not what to say

My heart so full of loving thoughts

He may just cast away

Hypnotic are his manners

I cannot this deny

And swings that reach the far extreme

There’s more than meets the eye

A silent fear my heart conceals

As I read him more and more

In a moment he can gleam my eyes

In a moment crush my soul

A steady flame " that strongly burns

Can spread his warmth around

Or wild, unruly and untamed

Can bring the castles down

Synonymous with fire-

His passions can spellbound

Lest I should even break away

My heart his thoughts will hound

On this attraction of the hearts

I have just lost my hold

What’re is to become of me

The future will unfold

A story of astounding love

Of a crush that lasts a life

Or a broken heart- embittered love

Of a life that lost in strife
