Of Saints & Sinners

Of Saints & Sinners

A Poem by Corey Prosise
"

Lyrics for my new band in progress.

"
I've walked through this land countless times, so I know when something feels right.
But this feels so wrong, leaving me with a bitter taste on the tip of my tongue.

Where do we go from here?
The clay of my future is in my hands to mold.
I've always had the best intentions, but I pray to god I don't lose control.

For when I lose control, I spit word of hate.
For the times I opened my heart, we're my biggest mistakes.
These memories need to be erased.
I'm slowly becoming the very thing I hate.

My eyes remain looking forward
For that is the direction I want to go.
Over mountains, under seas... Searching through the deepest of dreams.
For something to save me. Please, something save me.

From myself, I'm so contradicting.
Oh god, it's so hard to break these habits.
This battle has drawn on for far to long.
Lord, give me the strength to move on.

Over these years, I've lost so many things.
But I've managed to maintain my faith.
As my face grows cold, I keep my help up high.
I know this is my time, this is my time.

My eyes remain looking forward
For that is the direction I want to go.
Over mountains, under seas... Searching through the deepest of dreams.
For something to save me. Please, something save me.

I'm stronger than you know and I will prevail.
I know that I'm ready... I'm ready to let go.
