Love lies and love hurts....

I wrote this for my friend just after she broke up with her boyfriend.

I thought my life was perfect,

My best dream had come true.

I'd found someone who loved me....

That someone loved me too.

 

He said he could'nt live without me,

And that he loved me ever so much.

His eyes so soft and loving,

His hands I longed to touch.

 

But then one day his eyes went hard,

His heart as cold as stone.

His love for me was washed away,

He wanted to be alone.

 

It took days and weeks for that glimmer to return,

But sadly when it did.

I saw him with another girl,

And who am I to kid.

 

From that day forth i fought with myself,

My brain verse my fragile heart.

The memories it brought with it,

tore my borken heart apart.

 

My mind told me to stop this nonsense,

For it was plain and simple.

Someone who could do that to a girl,

Must have a heart the size of a dimple.

 

But that I knew could not be true,

There must be a reason for this.

A reason for why I still love him,

and still think he'll be my first kiss.....

Really nice I'm going through a lot with someone I loved she had a bf and knew I liked her. She broke up with him at my dads wedding and made me feel like she felt the same way. Then the next thing I knew she was talking to my cousin that never liked her before until the wedding. He though she was just another girl, but I thought of her as much more. My heart was torn apart that day and I though I could't look at both of them again. Now I'm fighting to keep them together. That's just the type I am. Tell your friend "Time heals a broken heart"

The piece has a big sense of rhythm which is good and it helps to keep reading in a calm format. I think the ending stretches a little when you read it but overall; a nice piece.
