Chapter 2

“The date must have been good since you ain’t home,” Mackenzie asked when she answered.

“No the date didn’t go well at all because Vince showed up,” Auri sighed.

“How did he even know you were on a date?” She asked sounding amused.

“He coincidently ordered food from the restaurant that we were at and caused a big scene. At this point I’m so done with this crap and these games, why won’t he leave me alone? I do like him a lot and he really can talk me into like um everything and I hate him too,” Auri stared at herself in the mirror. She was in the bathroom at Vince’s house sitting on the sink counter, in one of his t-shirts. And she hated that she was wnthralled by his scent.

“Talk to him about that,” Mackenzie told her.

“For what? He’s just using me; I know that and so do you Miss Seer. All he wants to do is prove he can have any girl he wants whenever he wants, well I’m done,” she said. This had to be it and she didn’t care if he could hear her, even asleep his hearing was very good.

“I’m at home with the kids, just come here and we can talk. But if you can honestly say you don’t want to be with him and you don’t love him. Then I’ll never bother you about him again and I’ll make sure the others don’t either,” she vowed as a best friend would.

“I can’t say it,” Auri whispered. The door to the bathroom opened and Vince took her phone.

“Kenz, she’ll call you back,” he said sounding tired. He hung up and set the phone out of her reach.

“I’m leaving and you said if I never want-”

“Shh,” he interrupted placing a finger against her lips. “Last night has me thinking that we should spend some time together. You should move in.”

“What? Why the hell would I do that?” She asked completely confused.

“Well you always tell me how you wish you had quiet or your own place, stay with me till you find one,” he said.

“That wasn’t me hinting that I want to stay here,” she replied. He was standing in front of her and wouldn’t let her down off the sink.

“I know, but I was thinking that living with the Alpha isn’t going to ever be peaceful so I can help you. Living alone in this big house gets boring and lonely,” he told her. His eyes were sincere but his hands were parting her thighs, what was all this?

“I’m sure your girls keep you entertained and warm at night,” she said. Thinking was becoming hard when he was running his thumb over the thin material of her panties. Sexy panties had been a good idea until he crashed her date.

“No other woman has been in my bed or my house, just you,” he said. There was that fire in his eyes, like he was going to turn. But she didn’t get why.

“That doesn’t mean anything to me, I don’t care who you screw. Just stay out of my love life, if I want to go out with a guy and do him that’s my business,” she told him.

“Stay with me Auri,” he said as if she didn’t say anything. Then without warning he ripped of her panties and stuck two of his big fingers inside of her.

“Oh Vince,” she whimpered in pleasure.

“Say you’ll stay with me, I swear I’ll be on my best behavior and won’t look at another woman. I’ll do anything just to have you here for a little while,” he said.

“I can’t,” she managed to say. Though thinking of why she couldn’t stay with him was difficult when he was fingering her.

“Did I tell you how amazing you looked last night? I’ll admit I got jealous of that human looking at you like that,” he told her. “So give me your answer.”

“Vince,” she moaned unable to say much else. He just thrust his fingers in harder making her scream for him. “Ok I’ll stay.”

“You’re sure?” He asked and she nodded, he smiled and worked her until she came on his hand. Then he withdrew his fingers and licked them “Let’s get in the shower, I feel like tasting more of you.”

Auri knew she should have said no but she couldn’t, not when he did that. Vince knew what to do to her body to make her melt. He turned on the water, took off his boxers and her shirt, picked her up and carrier her in. The water felt amazing and him kissing her only made it so much better. She was in a lot of trouble, but he made her forget that, for now.

Lynn Jordan had a secret. Once her sisters left to go out, she got up off the couch. It had been hard to convince them that she just wanted to stay home instead of doing dinner and a movie. Her excuse was that she wanted to look into applying to school and a job. Both she needed to do having graduated from high school a week ago, but she had other plans. She stood in front of the full length mirror trying to make sure it didn’t look like she put much thought into her outfit. Her dyed black hair was pulled up into a ponytail; her blonde roots were showing a lot more than she liked. The shorts she put on were very short and her tank top exposed her pierced belly button. He would definitely think she was hot. So she slipped on heels and walked down the hall of her apartment building like she was walking a runway. Before she could knock he opened the door and smiled that devilish smile he had.

“You look good,” he said looking her up and down.

“I know,” she replied walking pass him. Yup she could feel his eyes staring at her butt, she loved it.

“I should have come back sooner,” he said pulling her over to the couch.

While she sat on the couch making out with the hottest man she’s ever seen Lynn was still surprised this was happening. Sebastian Alonso was the most amazing guy she’d ever met. Months ago she’d met him in the laundry room and they’d been hooking up ever since. She ran her hands through his long black hair that was damp because he’d just got out the shower. He’d come to the door bare chested, he had abs to die for and huge muscled arms. Those grey eyes of his mesmerized her every time he looked at her, he was truly an Adonis. But she couldn’t tell anyone about him because he was older, and he bartended at a club with her sister. Lynn was barely 18 and with him being almost twice her age it wasn’t a good idea to tell anybody. Especially since her overly religious parents would never approve of her dating at all. This thing with Sebastian wasn’t actually a relationship, they just liked to hang out and hook up.

“Bastian,” she whisper and he looked down at her with those intense eyes.

“Yes?” The way he looked at her was enough to make her forget her own name.

“Why do you disappear for a week every month?” She’d been wonder about that since the first time it happened, but he always avoided the subject.

“Oh um I told you I go back home and spend time with my family,” he said. Why did it seem like he was hiding something?

“Yeah but why do you have to do that?” She pressed, she didn’t want to be paranoid but it was odd.

“It’s complicated,” he said. “Let’s talk about something else; I know you didn’t dress like this so we can talk about my family.”

“Do you have a wife and kids or something?” She asked only because she couldn’t help it, he laughed.

“What kind of man do you think I am? My family consists of way too many siblings and assorted aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephew’s, no wife,” he said.

“It’s just weird and I’m curious,” she said.

“It’s not a big deal, come on Baby let’s just forget this,” he said sounding uneasy.

“You’re hiding something,” she said. Of course since this was too good to be true, it had to be, so she got up from the couch.

Lynn, I just have certain family obligations, I swear it’s not another woman,” he told her. He pulled her back to him and kissed her.

“Are you just using me because I’m young and stupid?” That question had been on her mind since the day they met got drunk and almost had sex.

“Stop worrying, I like being with you Lynn,” he whispered in her ear. “Let me show you just how much I like you.” He picked her up and carried her back to his bedroom.

Sex wasn’t going to make her forget that he disappeared every month, but it was a great distraction. How was she supposed to say no to a man like this? Yeah it was possible that he was just using her despite what he said, but she wasn’t much better. She liked having fun sand he was fun so wasn’t it like she was using him too? Before he could even get her shorts off his cell phone rang and he actually answered. The way he was whispering in the phone was suspicious.

Lynn,” he sighed when he got off the phone. “I gotta leave, there’s an emergency with my family.”

“Oh I bet there is,” she replied. She got up and left his apartment without turning back, yeah this was pretty humiliating. No matter how amazing he looked, she wasn’t going to be his doormat.

Javier sat behind his desk with his wife at his side. Being responsible and being the bigger man and doing the right thing was not easy. Not where his father was concerned. But Mackenzie had a vision that affected everybody in his family, especially his father. So he called a meeting. It was a surprise when his youngest sister showed up with his best friend and second in command. That was another issue for him to deal with later. His main focus was how much he didn’t want his father in his house, especially not with Mackenzie here. He’d sent his son to stay at the farm because of his father.

His brothers Jared, David, Mack, Roberto, Leo, Alex and Patrick arrived quickly and took seats around the room. There was still a tension between all of them because he was in charge. His mother arrived with his aunt Ruby and uncle Zypher; his parents were probably fighting again. Warren his brother in-law came and it wasn’t surprising that Stella and Loraine came in behind him. Javier knew he didn’t exactly invite all of them, but his sisters always had to be in the loop. Sebastian came in with a weary expression on his face, yet another thing to ask about later. Last came Zenis, the reason they were all here.

“Well boy why are we even here?” His father asked, never one to be patience.

“Because I thought it would be a nice gesture to tell you that someone is going to try to kill you,” Javier said. Everybody stared at him.

“I had a vision,” Mackenzie added, they knew her visions were never wrong.

“You saw him die?” Jared asked, he was the first and oldest son.

“No, but I saw a fight and Zenis with a knife sticking out of his chest lying on the floor in a pool of blood,” she said calmly.

“Nobody could kill me, no one would dare,” Zenis said. “Well except for my traitorous cry baby sons, it’s probably one of you. ‘Oh Zenis you’re so horrible to have your own son killed, kidnap a child and treat women bad.’ I say get over it, you do what you have to do and I see you’re still using my seer.”

“Your children are concerned for you and you can’t appreciate that?” Ana asked looking disgusted with her husband.

“Concerned? One of them is probably the one that wants to kill me,” Zenis laughed bitterly.

“Look if someone is after you that affects all of us, not that it would be a loss to the world or anything,” Javier said. His temper was on a short fuse tonight and he knew this meeting would take way too much self control.

“Maybe someone more competent should be running things, then we wouldn’t have to worry about enemies or rely on witches,” Mack his least favorite brother said.

“You want to challenge me? Go ahead but I can’t promise I’ll let you live this time,” he told him.

“Puppies don’t lead,” Mack countered.

“And apparently old wolves lose quickly,” Vince said.

“Aurielle, what are you doing with him?” David asked, he was the second oldest and usually very mellow. However being an old werewolf and very territorial it was obvious why he would question their sister who was sitting on Vince’s lap.

“Didn’t know the perk to being second was getting the Alpha’s sister,” Roberto said shaking his head.

“What’s between us isn’t your business,” Vince said.

“She’s not marked,” Patrick said after looking over at Auri’s neck.

“Leave her alone,” Stella said. “She’s young and should have fun.”

“Hello we aren’t here about me, remember the whole danger thing?” Auri said with her blazing red cheeks.

I wouldn’t let that trash be all over my little sister,” Mack said.

“Really brother if you want a fight I’ll give it to you,” Javier said.

“Javier you’re just too young that is a fact,” Uncle Zypher said. “You don’t have enough years on this earth, but you fought your way up and deserve respect for that. And if someone wants to challenge your position than they should and not whine like a little girl.”

“So do we know who plans to do this?” Jared asked bringing them back on topic.

“I-” Mackenzie stopped speaking and went into a trance.

“I was wrong to take her but you use her? It’s ok for you because she had you kid huh?” Zenis asked, Javier dug his claws into the desk so he wouldn’t change and kill his father.

“If my wife chooses to offer information that is her choice, kidnapping a child is wrong. Not that you haven’t done worse,” Javier said bitterly.

“Where is that boy of yours anyway? I do have a right to see my grandson,” Zenis said with an evil grin.

“Do not provoke him,” Ana warned him. “Noah isn’t your concern.”

“A brother,” Mackenzie said when she came back from her trance. “But not Zypher, another brother, he wants to see everything you love destroyed.”

“Too bad he doesn’t care about anything or anyone,” Alex said.

“So Zkar is alive,” Zypher said thoughtfully.

“He was always one to hold a grudge,” Zenis shrugged.

“Well we know you don’t care if any of us live or die, but I do. So I’m advising you all to be careful, Zkar probably doesn’t know just how much of a selfish b*****d his brother really is. Anybody could be a target,” Javier said.

After talking strategy and dealing with Zenis’ stubborn bad attitude and childishness, the meeting was over. With another new threat Javier needed to keep his wife and son safe, he knew she hated having guards but it was necessary. Now all he had to do was deal with the situation with Auri and Vince, and figure out what was wrong with Sebastian. He knew Vince and Auri had a thing for each other, but showing up here together and her staying at his side meant something. Every other day there was someone inquiring about his last two unmated sisters, ironically they were both witches. Pressuring them into marriage was both wrong and the worse thing to do because they would do the opposite. Most of his siblings had families; one of his many obligations was to continue the line. His pack was already pretty big, but it was one of his duties to bud into everybody’s relationship, especially in his family. And he was really getting tired of getting calls about Auri and Loraine.

“Who is she?” Javier asked Sebastian who was staring into space looking lost.

“Am I so obvious?” Sebastian replied and he just nodded. “How can you be with someone you have to keep secrets from? She asked me why I leave every month and was with me when you called.”

“Well I guess I got lucky with Mackenzie, she lives in this world. If you love her then bring her here to at least meet you family, if they don’t scare her off nothing will. Do you trust her?” He asked, slowly Sebastian nodded.

“If she ever talks to me again I will bring her, then she really never will speak to me again,” Sebastian sighed. “I’m headed back, call if you need me.” He got up and left with a wave.

“Little brother got love troubles?” Vince asked when he came over.

“What are you doing with my little sister?” Javier asked him.

“She’s staying with me for awhile,” Vince told him. “Don’t look at me like that I didn’t promise her anything and I’m not using her, not really. We enjoy each other’s company and neither of us wants to be tied down.”

“If she’s yours then you better do what needs to be done in the next month,” Javier told him. “And if not stay away from her, she’s only going to get hurt and I don’t want to have to kill you.”

“She doesn’t want to be with me anyway and I don’t know that I could be faithful to her. How can you stay with just Mackenzie? There’s females begging to get near you and you stick with just one,” Vince seemed confused, that wasn’t a surprise.

“It’s easy, they aren’t worth it, I love my wife. If you love my sister then you won’t even want to be with someone else,” he said thoughtfully.

Ever since Mackenzie turned 16 and had an amazing body, he’d been obsessed. No matter how many other women he slept with or what logic said, he still wanted her. It got so bad that he would sneak into her bedroom while she slept and watched her sleep. And though he would never admit it he use to sniff her hair and some of her things. Her scent of apples and vanilla enthralled him so that he went out of his way to buy her expensive lotions and perfumes just so that he could smell her.

The trouble was that being with her at that time was wrong and it would look bad with his job. Who would want a pedophile treating their children? Mackenzie was the only underage girl he ever had feeling for, but he still felt weird about that. Then before he could even tell her how he felt she was gone. That would have been a good time to purge her from his mind and heart, but he couldn’t. So he searched and searched for her and was surprised to find her miles away on a farm with demons. And it was a shock that she seemed happy there. After watching her for awhile he approached her and she was happy to see him, but refused to go back with him. His little witch was a demon princess and he couldn’t pull her away from her family, but he couldn’t let her go either.

The only way Javier could bring Mackenzie back without his father trying to hurt her, was to take him out of power. But first he married her in a small private ceremony. Then he overthrew his father with the help of his brothers, it wasn’t hard with all the crimes he committed. The wolves had a council that had wanted evidence on Zenis for years, but no one would ever dare speak against him. Javier did, so they supported him for becoming the Alpha. Which hadn’t been his intention, but he had to go through with it. So there was a fight to see who was strongest, everybody who wanted the job was in the fight. Somehow he was the last one standing, it was a fight to the death and it changed him. He was never violent despite his father’s best efforts, but he had to survive. For the next year he had challenge after challenge and couldn’t even work because all the fights.

Eventually everybody saw that he was the strongest and no one could take him out, it took way too long to gain their respect and loyalty but it happened. Once things calmed down he paid Maddox to build Mackenzie’s dream home and then he moved her back to town. Not long after they moved in she was pregnant with his son, which brought on a whole new set of problems. It was bad enough that Mackenzie was always in danger because she was a seer and everybody wanted to use her abilities. Then she told him what their son would be and that meant if anyone found out they would kill to have him. Most days he wished he could have just left the pack and stayed on the farm with Mackenzie or just taken her far away. But fate had other plans for him, so now he was responsible for half the people in this town. This wasn’t what he’d wanted for his life, but he wouldn’t complain. He had to just make sure he took care of his family.

“Javi,” Mackenzie whispered. They were finally alone and she’d just got out of the shower.

“Let me guess you don’t want more security?” He asked, he was lying on the bed watching her dress.

“Well no, but I was going to say I want us to spend some time together. I know you have the pack and your work, but I never see you anymore,” she said.

“Not to mention your father’s war,” he sighed. “I’m sorry if I’ve be distracted lately, I can take some time off.”

“I’m not trying to complain, it’s just that Noah and I practically live at the farm lately and I miss you. When we see each other all we do is have sex,” she said. Dressed in a red silk gown she climbed into bed.

“Do you ever think about having more children?” He asked, she stared at him like he was crazy.

“No more like I think I need to start birth control with the way you’ve been acting,” she said sounding serious.

“What the hell do you mean by that? You know we don’t believe in that type of thing. So you don’t want more children?” He asked feeling angry though he knew he shouldn’t be.

“Calm down, I just don’t want more right now, Noah’s still so young and we have the girls. I would rather not have another child until our lives are more stable,” she said annoyed.

“Oh you’re worried we will have another child like him?” He asked, she nodded refusing to make eye contact. “Kenzie, I know you’re worried about what kind of life he’s going to have, so am I. Because I changed so young I had to deal with a lot, he’ll be strong and we can try to give him a normal life. Well as normal as he can have.”

“Can we think about it though? I would just feel better not having to worry about having another child, I know you want a big family and that’s fine. With everything that’s going on I want to be able to focus on the family I already have,” she said.

“That goes against everything I believe in,” he said. There was this look in her eyes, so he knew what he had to do. “Give me a little time then we can discreetly get whatever you want. It just can’t get out that my wife is using birth control.” This wasn’t what he wanted but he had to do this for her.

“Thank you,” she whispered. “I love you so much.”

“I love you too,” he told her pulling her close. Sometimes sacrifices had to be made and she’d already made too many of them for him, so she could have this one thing. Even if in reality he was completely against it.

I remember the day Javier came for me, I jumped into his arms with my legs around his waist and he kissed me. It was our first kiss, but I had been thinking about him everyday for that long year apart. We weren’t even together and never talked about how we felt about each other. I wasn’t allowed to call anyone in the Alonso family and Auri couldn’t come to me. The risk of what Zenis would do was too great, but Javier never gave up. Though I missed the sisters that adopted me as their own, and Ana and Javier especially, I wasn’t unhappy. In fact I was very happy to be with my parents and I loved getting to know them and my adopted sister and the rest of the family. But seeing him made me so happy and knowing that he was looking for me meant everything. He told me then how much he loved me.

Of course my father had his reservations about a man 12 years older than me showing up at his house. Especially since he is the son of the man that kidnapped me all those years ago, if Zenis hadn’t taken me my mother would have. They talked for hours while my mother and I waited. When they came out Javier took me for a walk and asked me to marry him. He told me that he couldn’t live without me and he would do anything to be with me. It was overwhelming but when it’s right its right so I said yes. My parents congratulated us when we came back inside and to my surprise didn’t object to letting him stay with us. Not even to letting him sleep in my room. To me it was strange, but I suppose since my mother had been brought here in the first place to be with my father it wasn’t so odd. At least I was older than she was; I was barely 17 at the time. That night all we really did was kiss so it wasn’t really a big deal.

A month later we were to be married. Everything happened so fast but Javier had a plan and it had to be put into action. The day before our wedding Ana, Auri, Regina, Loraine, Erora, Stella and Zara arrived; everything had to be in secret. I was so happy to see them, especially Auri. Vince, Sebastian, Jared and David came as well, not just for the wedding they had business to discuss. Since Javier planned to overthrow his father, mostly to keep me safe from him, he needed his oldest brothers to back him. Which they were very eager to do, nobody liked Zenis or the things he was doing. I was too busy to really care about what they planned; I was after all getting married. Some how I managed to find an amazing dress and we got married at the farm. When I was a little girl I never really dreamed of what my wedding would be like, and I never thought I would marry Javier. Our honeymoon consisted of us staying at a cabin on the edge of the farm property; it was made nice for us. That was the night I lost my virginity to Javier. For the next week I spent time with him and the sisters, they left at the end of the week. He divided his time as best he could between his home and mine, it was hard to be married to someone I couldn’t see.

When the big fight happened my mother, Auri and I were able to watch through magical means. I almost couldn’t take it to watch that happened, he was always so gentle and sweet, at that time he had to be a killer. After that he recovered at the farm a few days, I knew then that he wasn’t the same person, but I took care of him. When he was better he said he was going back to look at houses, but really he conspired with my father to build me a house. I wasn’t allowed back yet anyway, not until he knew I would be safe. Our visits were fewer after that because he was pretty much in a fight every other day. Auri moved out to the farm with me and the girls came out to visit often. That was the longest two years of my life. About 6 months after I was allowed to move into my new house, I found out I was pregnant. It took me completely by surprise, especially since my mother was pregnant already. That only made Javier more overprotective. A lot of people were surprised by my return and were completely shocked I was the new Alpha’s wife. Who would expect us to end up together after what his father did to me?

The night I had my vision about Zenis and Javier had the meeting was the first time I’d been in a room with him since I left 7 years ago. I don’t think he was as mad about Javier taking his place as he was about finding out that he married me. Not that I like to admit it but Zenis kind of wanted me to be one of his mistresses. He always wanted Javier to succeed him, everybody knew that. But I guess he viewed me as his property and his investment that his son stole. Zenis is a complete narcissist and a criminal and a murderer. Finding out that I was carrying Javier’s child really pissed him off, and somehow he found out that Noah was more than what he should be. In his mind if I had had his child then he would have a powerful tool to use. Now he can’t get near my son, not with my father’s guards everywhere we go along with the wolves that Javier trusts.

The day after the meeting I was home out by the pool with Auri and the babies, my parents were in desperate need of some alone time. Auri was telling me how Vince seduced her into moving in with him. She’d been living with us since we came to our new house, but she’s not the only one that lives with us. Ana stays with us most of the time because she can’t stand to be near Zenis. Four of Javier’s nieces stay with us because their parents died in a car crash (caused by Zenis). They were staying with their mother’s parents for half the summer. And since it’s the Alpha’s house assorted family and members of the pack are always in and out. The farm isn’t much better with refugees in and out of the house all the time. I’m destined to live in a chaotic home, but it doesn’t bother me. I just have to have a well stocked refrigerator.

“So why did you even agree to stay?” I asked Auri who was putting Mena’s hair into pigtails.

“His fingers were in me and I was on the edge, I couldn’t think why it was a bad idea,” she said with a slight smile. “Don’t you love how last night everybody was in my damn business? Loraine isn’t married either so why was I so important?”

“Um hun you were sitting on his lap,” I said laughing. “Are you ready to admit that you love him and want to be with him?”

“Nope, you know how I feel I’ll just be in denial. I’m exploring what it’s like to live with him, it’s an experiment. Sooner or later he’s going to screw up and prove to me just how much of a self centered womanizing pig he really is,” she said.

“If you say so,” I replied.

“Sebastian smelled like a woman, did you pick up on that? He hasn’t been with anyone in years,” she changed the subject.

“Yeah, Javi says Bastian has a girlfriend that he’s going to bring to meet family,” I told her. “So I’m hoping he’ll bring her to family dinner on Sunday.” Every Sunday evening we have family dinner at Loraine and Stella’s restaurant.

“Yes let’s get the attention off of me,” Auri said.

“So not that I should even mention this but I did talk to Javi about that thing we discussed and he agrees to it. And with minimal argument too, I think he feels bad for never being around,” I said.

“Really? I’m so proud of big brother for being modern, if he knew I took them then he’d flip,” she sighed. That was our secret; Auri had been on birth control for years now. In my opinion a woman’s body is hers to do what she wants with it; gypsies do tend to be slightly feminist.

“Modern? More like he feels guilty so he’ll be nice for a little while but I know after the war thing is over he’s going to want more babies,” I shook my head. I want a big family too, just not all at once.

At 22 I’m married with 5 kids to take care of and half the time Mena is here, sometimes I wish I could have experienced life more before marriage. Everything just happened so fast with Javier; I love him and would never want to be without him. But it was all too much at once, not that I would give my Noah back. He’s what keeps me sane and grounded with my crazy life.

*************************

Sebastian was antsy and he wasn’t sure this was a good idea. Days had gone by and Lynn wouldn’t answer his calls, texts or emails. There was only one thing left for him to do and he dreaded it. He stood outside of the door to the apartment where she lived with her sister and paced. If he knocked on this door then Sarah would know what was going on with him and her teenage sister. Was this thing with Lynn really worth what it could cost? The Jordans were very religious save-yourself-for-marriage type of people from what both sisters had told him. They would never accept him for a lot of reasons, but if they ever found out what he was he knew it would end bad. Hadn’t he been down this road before? When he was young he’d fallen for a girl with a family like that and almost married her. But after exactly 3 ½ failed relationships and years of resenting who he was, he had sworn off women completely.

Then one fateful day he’d gone to do laundry and saw Lynn. She’d been wearing short shorts and a bra, sitting on top of a washing machine. What straight man wouldn’t look at her? He hadn’t wanted to talk to her, even though she stirred his dormant libido, but she started talking to him. For some reason he ended up inviting her over for a drink, never thinking to ask how old she was. Maybe it was drinking that made him lose his mind and hook up with her that night. It was a miracle he was able to stop himself from having sex with her. She stayed over that night and woke up early for school, high school. And that was when she told him she was only 17. At first he was pissed, and then he decided to just stay away from her. She made staying away impossible, she wouldn’t go away. So now here he was a little more than 6 months later trying to get her to meet his family. Even though he’d never even asked her to be his girlfriend, it was never supposed to get that serious but now he wasn’t so sure.

He knocked knowing he would have to suffer consequences for his own foolish actions, but he cared about her too much not to do it. How much he cared about her was becoming a problem and he should have walked away and probably moved out of the building too.

“Sebastian, what are you doing here?” Sarah asked when she opened the door.

“Um I’m looking for Lynn, is she here?” He asked, he hadn’t felt nerves like these in years.

“Come in,” she said with an odd expression. “This is my sister Mercedes.” She introduced the woman sitting on her couch.

            “Hi,” he said.

“Hello Hottie, why are you looking for Lynn?” Mercedes asked.

“She and I need to talk about something,” he said.

“I knew it,” Sarah said staring at him. “It’s you that’s she’s been with! I knew it had to be you. So you had a fight? She’s been acting so weird these last few days and you’re the reason.”

“That’s Lynn’s boyfriend? How old are you?” Mercedes asked sounding shocked.

“You’re 30, right?” Sarah asked and he nodded because he hated to lie.

“What do you want with Lynn? She’s a child,” Mercedes said.

“We just uh got close,” he said “I take it she’s not here.”

“No, but please stay Sebastian, I’m just curious about this. Are you having sex with my little sister?” Sarah asked, now he was really uncomfortable.

“It’s none of your damn business,” Lynn said when she came in. He’d been so thrown by the question he hadn’t heard her come in.

Lynn are you crazy messing around with a grown man?” Mercedes said to her sister. “No offense I mean you are a total hottie but she’s a child. I don’t know why you would even want to be with a little girl, unless that’s your thing.” She said to Sebastian.

“It’s not,” he said turning to go. “Lynn I really need to talk to you.” He said to her hoping she’d see how desperate he was.

“Nothing to talk about,” Lynn said refusing to look him in the eyes.

Without another word he left, so this was it. The first female he’d felt something for in the a little more than 6 years and she hated him. But how could he explain to her that he disappeared for a week every month because he was a wolf? The week of the full moon emotions were intensified. To avoid any incidents he went home where others would understand. A lot of fights and sex and stuff like that happened during moon week. He basically hid in a room at his brother’s house avoiding the world. If he stayed here during that week then he wasn’t sure what would happen. How could he keep his secret if he couldn’t control his behavior around the full moon? Sebastian banged his head into the door of his apartment, he felt like breaking or hitting something. Worse was that he kind of felt like changing and running.

“Bastian,” Lynn called and he turned to see her coming down the hall.

“Yeah I got the point, so I’ll leave you alone,” he growled.

“Why can’t you just tell me the truth? I hate this,” she said with a slight pout.

Lynn, I really do go stay with my family once every month and most Sundays I go to dinner with them. My family is just complicated and the other night I found out someone is trying to kill my father. I just don’t know what I’m supposed to do here,” Sebastian said. He was beyond frustrated and he didn’t want to deal with any of this and he really wished he could be human.

“Really? I’m sorry but what am I supposed to think? I feel things for you and you are so secretive,” she sighed. He pulled her inside his apartment and shut the door.

Lynn I care so much about you and I hate that I hurt you, but I don’t mean to be secretive. I’ve just been on my own for a long time and all I really have is my family, I don’t even really have friends. I’m so sorry,” he told her.

“You came over to see me, weren’t you worried what Sarah would say?” She asked him.

“Well I weighed my options and you’re worth whatever happens. I had to see you so I would have done anything,” he confessed.

“Why do you have to know all the right things to say?” She asked, he pulled her into a kiss.

“If you want to I’d like you to meet my family,” he said. Never in his life did he bring a girl home to meet his family.

“For real? When?” She asked actually looking excited.

“Tomorrow we have Sunday dinner, but I must warn you my family is a bit eccentric and crazy,” he said.

“My family is boring, prudish, stuck up and judgmental, I’d take crazy and eccentric if they’re fun,” she said.

“Just remember I warned you,” he said then kissed her again. They kissed and kissed and made up for the rest of the night. Lynn had no idea what she was getting into with the Alonso clan; he hoped they wouldn’t scare her away.
