HumanA Poem by Steven BilodeauIs it only human that we learn to hate, love, scream and shout? Ask you self? Does any other being behave like us? On a biological note, every time we get a cold, the virus implants its DNA in us. According to scientific research our DNA comprises up
We once the cure, now the disease. We spread our word, our poisonous creed. Greedfull of this land we are, tire it out as we kill our brothers. A synthetic race we create, a construct of social thought. In the end, we are only vicious animals that have the destructive ability of thought. As we harvest our selves and make more, we destroy even more than we saught. In the darkness we prevail, that's why Adam and Eve ate the apple. We seek mayhem, death and toil. We view ourselves as the best creature God set forth on this rock. To what, deny him in the end because we have become so egotistical. We outweigh our selves to the world and God, and give nothing in return. Altruism does not exist with us, we bleed corruption. Only time will tell how long we'l last, we are a burden to this Earth, and even to ourselves. The heroes are gone, and we changed their words to make money for control. When oh when will we collapse? What great test is in our future? If it's my guess it's in our selves. But like I said, only time will tell.
