Benches

Benches

A Poem by Bill MacEachern
"

I take a lot of nature photos, in my travels I tend to come across benches everywhere... I take photos of benches and decided they needed words to sit on them.

"

Benches
Benches

Benches to sit
Benches to gaze
Benches to while
Good days away

Benches that sway
Benches that swing
Benches for playing
Songs that we’ll sing

Benches to feed
Benches to eat
Benches for resting
Our tender feet

Benches for writing
Benches for reading
Benches to dream on
Ways of succeeding

Benches with scenes
Benches at sea
Benches to witness
High tides recede

Benches for watching
Benches for greetings
Benches for having
Those lunchtime meetings

Benches for people
Benches for dogs
Benches of comfort
For long hours logged

Benches for holding
Benches for hugging
Benches for kissing
Ones that we’re loving

Benches are metal
Or could be wood
But one things for certain
Benches are good

A great poetic tribute to the humble bench; I often wondered who had previously been sitting where I had sat! Especially at a famous or historical location. Nice share my friend... :-)
