Rains Regret

Rains Regret

A Poem by Bill MacEachern
"

Nature

"
Tiny shards of ice
Bouncing off the ground
Like shattered glass
Mimicking the sound
Yearning to be snow
Intricate as lace
Instead, micro mirrors
Searching for a face
Hoping to float
Flutter
Dart like a bee
Sorry little raindrop
'Tis not cold enough
For thee

Author's Note

Bill MacEachern
My first attempt at poetry. Back in the fall/winter of 2002 I was under my pickup doing a repair when I heard the clinking sound of the sleet hitting the truck, I turned my head to see sleet bouncing off the ground

Thank you so much Paul, now I have to read it backwards also😀
I'm a fan of rhyme and I love the flow. Very enjoyable, and your words set the scene perfectly.
Thanks for sharing!
