DripA Story by B1llyPoetic Pros Short Story
Drip.
Drip. Drip. Water crashes into my skull like a car escaping the inevitable downfall. The earth shakes and the chain although i try so hard never seems to break. my scorched ,scared and broken hands shake as i sleep ending an endless echoing of chains rattling like machine guns, bullets bouncing off every wall eventually piercing my ears. A new Noise, a rumble of crushing bones that explodes into my ear drums. i open and see nothing as always but i hear the distant rumble, a slow fading light appears moving closer, as my head hangs low dripping with sweat. the light grows filling the deepest cracks of the infinite darkness that surrounds me. i see them, the gravel, small as peas, moved beneath there feet and from it a fain dust rose, the perfume of the town, the old town , that old smell, now gone like a life lost in recruitment. A foreign language over shadows the murmurous of the rock face. my shackles loosen, my life falls into a jagged sharp rock, now on my knees i look up to see my end, the eventual conclusion to my short tour, like a drip of water i hit the floor and lay flat my life spread apon the moss covered rocks. Drip!
