On FireA Poem by William Michael ReevesParallelismus Membrorum
Fire elevates a species in the progression of inspiration.
Fire may destroy a species, combusting in progression. A pinecone waits for a flame to seed a planet. A flame extinguishes hope built by worlds. Light is cast in mesmerizing beauty. Light is lost in the vacuum of desolation. Fusion creates life. Fusion negates life. Tragedy lites upon ingenuity. Tragedy burns in the hearts of loss. Sunrise awakens memories shared. Sunset rests on our grief. Incendiary thought motivates change. Incendiary action corrupts precedent. Embers spark imagination. Embers spread death. Ashes memorialize our lives well lived. Ashes are all we'll have if we live as we have. 2023 © 2023 William Michael ReevesAuthor's Note
