From Shade To Shadows

From Shade To Shadows

A Poem by William Michael Reeves
"

Double sided Villanelle

"
These days I've come to hate the sun;
the heat can be unbearable.
From shade to shadows now I run.

To have no shelter's not much fun
when living in your vehicle.
These days I've come to hate the sun.

Attention's glare is what I shun,
my life's become so flammable.
From shade to shadows now I run.

So fast is life that it will stun ~
gone, like a melting icicle.
These days I've come to hate the sun.

Our world ... out of control it's spun.
The change is unbelievable.
From shade to shadows now I run.

The need to hide has just begun;
it hurts to write this chronicle.
These days I've come to hate the sun ~
from shade to shadows now I run.

Author's Note

William Michael Reeves
In every parking lot where there's a shadow I see someone who's homeless parked there. I was thinking shade is what you have when you have a home and shadows are where you hide when you're homeless. I forsee a time when our homes have an umbrella that moves with the sun keeping the house in the shade, assuming you can afford one.
