FaithA Poem by William Michael ReevesFusion poetry #4. Ghazal/Parallelismus Membrorum
Historic questions of existence seed faith.
With timeless answers, human minds then freed faith. Unleashed by hope that more than life can live, to capture eternity, fear of death does deed faith. Enlightened hearts must wage war on hypocrisy. In darkness, peace is lit or lost by those who bleed faith. Hunger drives an empty man to blindly fill his plate; so women wisely temper indulgence, and feed faith. Mandates fall on roads built straight and narrow, though doctrine will support what may in turn impede faith. Fellowship gathers good folded within angelic wings, split by demons who commit their crimes as they who lead faith. Prayers promised in Communion or the Seven Sacraments lie in silence ~ deaf to cries that cannot heed faith. Denominations affirm designed revelation; yet, without evidence, logic should supersede faith. Agnostic trusts self-determination guides nature's course ... Will I am, a man, who believes fate must also need faith. 2023 © 2023 William Michael ReevesAuthor's Note
