Of inspiration I'm born
Conceived in communication
kinetic thought
generates genetic phrase
Of word I am built
torn
from the womb of your mind
realized
Baptized by a poetess
sanctified by a priestess
I live!
In youth I stretch my verse
rebel in form
structure
free to be me as I am
Frustrating
satisfying, in the joy of creation
I grow in imagination
on pages I live
to breathe in the eye immortal!
With nurture I mature
I complete
that which needs to be shared
your voice
set free to sing for worlds!
lightsong wrote a poem which ended with 'write me a poem'. This was my response. She thought enough of it to create this nice presentation for me to share. Thank you!

This is wonderfully rendered. It seems that you depict poetry as a living, breathing thing and it is a great analogy, showing how a poet or poetess can "birth" a poem from just one line and eventually the one line is created into stanzas. A poem can be anything the creator wants it to be, and I think that message is strongly depicted through your choice of words and imagery. Thank you for sharing, I enjoyed reading this!

Like cutting a big piece of meat and slapping it down on the page. Then every time I read it seemed a little more tenderized. Glad you're finding my new stuff. Hope you are consummating new lines. I'll come check. Thanks Aura.

Glad you survived. I was absent during your absence but had got wind of it and thought about you often. Went to your profile a couple times prepared to try and catch up but just couldn't find time to really do it. I'm back with time, and glad you get more time.

I liked this a lot, I liked the feeling of life in poetry, knowing why it breathes, why it touches and why it entertains. (among many other things). This is a great free verse poem.

I give him a break once in a while and take a stab with my pen at free verse. A good poem does feel alive like we can feel it's breath and warmth. Glad you like, thanks!

Whenever eyes fall upon me I am resurrected. I have been baptized (couldn't find you so had to settle for the high priestess who sings with light. You must have been meditating) so I will live eternal. When minds consume my body and ink in poetic communion I will be cared for as life, not elegy.
