Free verse to balance the recent rhyme

Poetry can be like a sneeze
frustrated words that never come
almost there
anticipating completion
completely abandoned
done.

Poetry can be like sex
work so hard to get the word
in there
when you do feels so good, so right
coupled rhyme entwined in couplets
completely spent.
Repent!

Poetry can be like a jigsaw puzzle
pick your pieces -- wooden words of nine
right there
complex ambiguity by the thousand
completely forgot
completion.

Poetry can be like anything
everything we feel, we know
put there
compiled on pages blank as our lives are full
completely filled
compelled.

I love your comparisons....poetry can be like.....so many things, You almost humanize it here.....it is a way of using your mind, just like puzzles, a sneeze... anticipatory, like sex...struggle to put in a word...and lastly and it can be anything...that which we fell and know.... clever work WM!

Poetry can be anything we want it to be! I like your analogies in how you compared how poetry can be like a sneeze, sex, a jigsaw puzzle, that was creative. Yes, poetry can be like putting words together to make it form a image, it can be verses entwined together to create one masterpiece, or it can be frustrating when we have no idea what to write about, writers block, so that anticipation can build up for when we do have an idea. Oh, I dislike those kinds of sneezes because they still happen. They don't the first time... but then they do, but I understand your train of thought though, like a "dropped" sneeze, ideas get dropped as if giving up... like a sneeze giving up.... BUT like a sneeze, the ideas always have a way of coming back again which makes for nice work!

that line holds so much truth in it.
the entire poem is smart metaphor...complex ambiguity....
poetry when there is ambiguity...then the reader is left completely filled, compelled. As you write.
