Poetic ReviewsA Poem by William Michael ReevesCollection of poems I've written as reviews
For Carlos Lorenzo Estrada's poem 'Chason de Choix'
A wordless poet dies A songless dancer takes a seat A visionless painter cries A pure heart beats Pumping reason into rhyme Transferring grace in melody Flowing red in loving time Drowning hatred in ecstasy Of self definition And decisions made Leading heart's intuition Within memories that fade In the mind of a poet Speaking truth they strive To choose thoughts we can't forget Writing words that come alive! For John the Baptist's poem 'Envy and Greed' Sins indeed But the truth of your words are in my mind like a seed Growing in a garden where darkness does feed But when both have my hand as I try to weed From my life that unconscious need I'll remember your poem, and try to heed. In Ada's poem 'Pancakes' she asks..... "If I were syrup what part of your mind would you lick me up with?" With my temporal tongue I taste... The essence of your synaptic syrup The cream of your brainy butter The soft of your spongy matter. With my culinary cortex I lick.... The sweet of your flowing desire The salt of your ephemeral fetish The milk of your griddled fire. With my 'liscious lobes I devour... The amber pool of satisfaction The blonde pad deliquescing The golden pan caked in memories... of magnificent meals made in our minds! For Cherrie Palmer's... 'Swaying Willow' The willow swayed in a gust of imagination Freeing the words caught in a spell And your fingers fumbled trying to catch the pages Carried on winds of thought in a brisk embrace and 'Apocalypse of Puppies' Kitties Fuzzy eclipse Climbing legs of fate A meowing melee of go Get 'em For Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)'s poem 'Fairie Glows' I caught a kiss from beyond Carried on a breeze Woven brightly with Fairie glows So I saw with all my sight Trapped up top and all afright By muddy barking guards that left a fairie stuck So I flew and found and tried To ease her fears and with me fly Into a future living way Hoping it's not done Blowing feelings written fond! 2022 and 21 © 2022 William Michael ReevesAuthor's Note
